Dory Cote is the founder of The Center for Earth Light Healing. She is a Shamanic Practitioner trained and experienced in core shamanism.
She has an active, full time shamanic healing practice in Brunswick, Maine and her healing space is inviting, warm, spacious, private and comfortable. If you live far away from Maine, she offers long distance healing services which are generally as effective as working in person.
Dory's training includes having completed a Three-Year Program in Advanced Shamanism and Shamanic Healing with the Foundation for Shamanic Studies. She also has studied with several indigenous shamans and other well known shamans including Tom Cowan, Hank Wesselman, Ailo Gaup, Claude Poncelet, and Nan Moss & David Corbin. He has studied extensively with Sandra Ingerman including in depth works in the practice of Soul Retrieval, an important aspect of helping people return to the wholeness which is their birth right.
She was honored to be accepted into Sandra Ingerman’s Two-Year Teacher Training Program from which she graduated in 2005. As a result of this specialized training, she is now able to offer workshops and apprenticeship programs in advanced shamanic healing and advanced shamanism as well as continuing to offer introductory courses. Dory is also currently participating in a 4-year practicum in Weather Shamanism under the tutelage and guidance of Nan Moss & David Corbin, authors of the well known book, Weather Shamanism.
What Dory says about her shamanic practice:
I have worked with clients from most major spiritual traditions: Hindu, Buddhist, Christian (including Catholic, Mormon, Unitarian, Evangelical), Spiritualist, Jewish and Islamic.
For the most part someone comes to see me because there is something that is not working in their life.
Perhaps they cannot re-capture the vigor of their life since their divorce, or death of a loved one. They have been diagnosed with a serious or terminal illness.
Or they want me to help them communicate with their deceased beloveds. (See my article entitled “Communicating with the Deceased and the Dying: A Shamanic Perspective”)Many have come to see me because of problems that they describe as feeling “not whole” or “having something missing” that they can’t put their finger on. Others come because of a chronic physical problem such as fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, migraine headaches, or a more acute problem such as cancer or other life-threatening disease.

I love working with children and feel especially gifted in seeing their true essence and in helping them to resolve fears and anxieties. Children respond to shamanic healing work very quickly as they don’t have a lot of social inhibition about accepting the reality of the work. With children in the autism spectrum, my work is particularly moving because the focus is on the child's gifts and talents and helping to enhance those gifts while at the same time calming (and sometimes resolving) relationship and other issues that come with these diagnoses. Healing Your Home, Land and Business
Sometimes the work with an individual or a couple involves healing the ills of their home, land, or their business. In that case I might perform a ceremony, ritual or blessing.
Journeying From Near and Far
Most clients see me in my office space, in Brunswick, Maine. However, I will travel to an individual or family if they are unable to come to me. Sometimes the work requires that I come to them for some reason involving the energies of their own space.
I also work long-distance. Shamans have for centuries known how to perform healing work from a distance. It is often as affective as seeing the shaman face to face.
I regularly receive referrals from doctors, medical practitioners, therapists, psychiatrists and numerous other healing practitioners who are from other states or areas of Maine and also have numerous clients who can testify to the results of our long-distance work.
