This is the fourth Apprenticeship Program of its kind, sponsored by The Center For Earth Light Healing and taught by Dory Cote (see bio in "about us"on this website) Numerous students have completed prior programs and are doing excellent shamanic work in the world. See testimonials on this website, or ask Dory for the names of graduate students who will be happy to talk with you.
In this one-year experience you will learn the shamanic healing practices of extraction, soul retrieval, working with those who are dying or who are deceased, power animal retrievals, and you will participate in several ceremonies including fire ceremonies, dances and other rituals and initiations.
This is an experiential year with deep work on a personal and global basis. Shamanism is not about techniques, and although we will teach numerous global shamanic healing methods, this year is truly about who you "become" and not what you do.
Some students go on to become shamanic practitioners, while many apply their experience in a variety of unique and creative ways.
A personal interview with Dory is required prior to acceptance into this program.

This is a non-residential program which allows us to keep the costs down. If you are travelling from some distance we can make recommendations for inexpensive overnight housing nearby.

A shamanic drumming circle gathers at The Center for Earth Light Healing on the last Wednesday of each month from 6 to 8:30 p.m.
Experience with the shamanic journey process, as well as some formal training in shamanism, is required for participation in this drumming circle.
Dory Cote leads this circle where participants provide healing for the Earth, for each other, for friends and family and those who have asked for healing. We often do divination journeys by request of someone in the circle or by request of someone who has communicated with one of us a desire to have some information from our spirit helpers regarding major issues in their lives.j

Meets @ The Center for Earth Light Healing in Brunswick, ME on the 2nd Tuesday of each month. This drumming circle is led by Dory Cote who is participating in a long-term practicum in Weather Shamanism with Nan Moss and David Corbin, authors of the book, Weather Shamanism.
This drumming circle is opened only to those who have completed at least Level 1 training in Weather Shamanism with Nan Moss & David Corbin.

December 20, 2009 @ The Yurt/Elemental Spirits, Jefferson, ME
This 3 1/2 hour event celebrates the return of the Sun and honors the Spirit of Darkness. We explore the ways our ancestors might have experienced (with exhilliration) the evidence of the suns return, and at the same time we gather in a sacred ceremony of the Sami people to hear from the oracle of the Spirit of the Darkness who provides us with powerful healing energies.
This ceremony incorporates a lot of singing, dancing and ringing of bells. We "climb the tree" to visit with the Spirit of the Sun to ask for guidance for the coming year.
Experience with shamanic journeying is not required for attendance at this workshop. Prior registration IS required. Directions to each of the sites will be provided upon registration for one of these events.

The Power Dance is an indigenous dance where the participants seek being a pure "channel" of power and inspiration directly from the Spirits and carry a message from them through song and dance. It is a dance of POWER, thus the name. The original intent of the Power Dance was to cure those who suffer from addiction to alcohol, as well as to cure other illnesses. It is also now considered an initiatory rite of passage for those seeking a shamanic way of life.
