This is the fifth One-Year Apprenticeship Program sponsored by The Center For Earthlight Healing, taught by Dory Cote and assisted by Terry Morgan.
In this one-year experience you will learn the shamanic healing practices of extraction, soul retrieval, working with those who are dying or who are deceased, power animal retrievals, Sandra Ingerman's Medicine for the Earth and How to Thrive in Changing Times and you will participate in several ceremonies including fire ceremonies, dances and other rituals and initiations.
This is an experiential year with deep work on a personal and global basis. Shamanism is not about techniques, and although we will teach numerous global shamanic healing methods, this year is truly about who you "become" and not what you do.
Some students go on to become shamanic practitioners, while many apply their experience in a variety of unique and creative ways. We work in small circle with generally no more than 15 students in any one year. This provides a great deal of individualized attention with ample follow up and contact with Dory between sessions. Your tuition includes numerous hours of personal contact with Dory.
Numerous students have completed prior programs with The Center for Earthlight Healing and are doing excellent shamanic work in the world. See testimonials on this website, or ask Dory for the names of graduate students who will be happy to talk with you.
A personal interview with Dory Cote, and completion of an application are required prior to acceptance into this program.
This is a non-residential program which allows us to keep the costs down. If you are traveling from some distance we can make recommendations for inexpensive overnight housing nearby. All of our meetings are at The Barn, Topsham, Maine a beautiful, peaceful yoga retreat facility (no housing available) with outdoor fire pit, separate space for lunches and snacks, a small kitchen, and plentiful pillows, blankets, chairs, back jacks and other items to keep you comfortable during the workshop.
If you are interested, please contact Dory for an application, an appointment for a personal interview, and information about tuition payments.

The Shamanic Journey Process
March 17-18, 2012
The Barn, Topsham, ME
Learn the art of shamanic journeying. Meet your Power Animal and personal Spirit Helpers!
Shamanic journeying is the way of the shaman and most indigenous cultures of our ancestors....whether they be from Europe, Africa, the Middle East, the Pacific Rim or other areas of the world...they shared a common knowledge of how to communicate with the Spirits of the natural world and with the Spirit in all things, including the spirits residing in other realms.
Most people who learn the Shamanic Journey Process step into a new way of life and understanding of the energy and love available to us from the spirit of other beings who are around us at all times. Some continue their studies and learn to be a Shamanic Practitioner. Others are satisfied with the introduction and use the practice of their own personal healing and guidance.
Come learn and have fun with us on this weekend. We will drum, rattle, dance, sing, and go deep into the Lower World and the Upper World to the lands of our Power Animals and Spirit Helpers. We will learn how to do Power Animal Retrievals for others so that they may also experience the power of this relationship.
Meet others whose interests and beliefs are similar to yours. Begin to build your own community of like-minded friends.
This workshop will be co-taught by Dory Cote & Terry Morgan. See their biographical information at "About Us" on this website.
Fee: $175.00 (includes all materials)

Two-Year Program in Advanced Shamanic Initiations
TWO-YEAR PROGRAM IN ADVANCED SHAMANIC INITIATIONS
2012-2013
Dory Cote and a long-time colleague, Barbara Bloecher, of Louisville, Kentucky are collaborating to co-teach this program during various dates and at different venues during 2012 and 2013.
Gatherings in Maine will be held at the Audubon Borestone Mountain Sanctuary. All meetings will be for 3 intensive days and there will be two meetings each year for two years. In Maine the meetings will be in early June and early October. We are offering two opportunities to participate in this program in Maine. One opportunity will be on weekends and the other will be mid-week.
We are also offering this program in Kentucky during late May and late October of 2012 and 2013. All programs will be identical in nature.
This is a residential program and is intended to deepen your shamanic practice. The emphasis will not be on healing modalities, but rather totally centered around you, the practitioner, and the process of becoming the hollow bone through initiations and practices that are intended to whittle away at the mind and center you in the Spirit.
There will be no drugs of any kind whatsoever used in these initiations and every effort is made to keep you safe physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Pre-requisite:
An application is required for admission into this program as well as a strong connection with your helping spirits and evidence of good journeying skills. Space is very limited. Inquire about an application by emailing Dory now if you have interest in this upcoming program. All applicants will be thoroughly screened.

Only a few fortunate persons have had the privilege of visiting and staying on this sacred land and in these comfortable, rustic lodges @ Borestone Mountain Sanctuary, owned and operated by the Maine Audubon Society.
It is indeed a sacred honor to visit the land and the mountain and have the opportunity to be 'one' with the spirit of place. The surroundings embrace your visit, while at the same time filling your eyes and heart with awe at every turn. The ponds are pristine, clean, warm & refreshing for swimming, and inviting in which to canoe and kayak without being overwhelming for the non-athletic person.
The hike to the summit of Borestone is challenging but pleasant for the novice yet sufficiently interesting for the experienced climber. The climb can be taken at an easy pace as you take in the rock ledges, bountiful mosses, opened skies, and plentiful bird life. The view at the summit is breathtaking (rivals the summit of Katadin, as many say).
The lodges are rustic log cabin construction, yet very comfortable with modernized toilet and shower facilities, large, commercial kitchen, enormous dining area with large log fashioned tables and chairs....
We will provide our own meals (breakfast, lunch & dinner) for 4 days and 3 nights, after having been shuttled over by motor boat to the private lodges.
Dory will lead fire ceremonies with a theme each evening that will guide you farther and farther into your own purpose for a retreat at this time.
We are keeping the cost of this retreat down to the bare bones to make it possible for those with limited resources to visit, rest and be one with Borestone!
You can lounge around in the adirondack chairs on the wrap around front porches overlooking the pond(s) while you sip your coffee or iced tea, and take in the quiet and amazing views; or you might choose to make the hike up the mountain, walk along the numerous trails around the ponds, make a new friend, take a nap, go for a refreshing swim, or choose from numerous other possibilities. Each person will make their own choices about their daytime program.
In the evening we will gather around a large outdoor fire (near the teepee) to drum, sing and celebrate together while Dory leads us in a sacred ceremony to deepen our retreat experience.
Come explore how you might find wholeness in the midst of these universal chaotic times.

Two-Year Program Testimonial
Dory is a great teacher! She is also a gifted shamanic healer, with plenty of experience to draw upon in her class work. She is that rare combination of gifted and humble that makes her a wise and valuable spiritual guide. She created a safe space in which to do deep spikritual work that is relevant and meaningful. At the same time there was plenty of fun and laughter in her classes. I feel blessed that I was called to study with Dory.
Testimonial: Male Student
This shamanic program with Dory opened my life and my soul. I am no longer able to look at life, to interact with life, without having awareness of the surrounding spirits. I live with a totally new level of peace. There are no words to describe how Dory and this program have changed my life. I will forever be indebted.
Testimonial: Current Student
My experience in my first year of training in Shamanic Healing with Dory has been transformational. In the beginning I thought of shamanism as an activity or pursuit. As the year progressed, shamanism became totally integrated in my every day life. It has helped me to understand, and appreciate, myself and thrive in a challenging world.
Testimonial: Children's Workshop
Thank you so much! Everyone loved the workshop and we are so excited to make a plan to have you back. I truly loved your respectful, confident and kind way of being with the girls. What a gem you are, dear Dory!
